How it works

  1. Add your business and client details, the quotation number and the date it is valid until.
  2. Add your items. Each line is quantity × rate.
  3. Add a discount in % or in rupees. It comes off the subtotal.
  4. Sales tax is the rate you set × the amount after discount. The total is written in words in English and Urdu, using lakh and crore.
  5. Add your terms, then press Print to print the quotation or save it as a PDF.

Example: 10 office chairs at Rs 18,500 is Rs 1,85,000. A 5% discount is Rs 9,250, leaving Rs 1,75,750. With sales tax at 15% (Rs 26,362.50), the total is Rs 2,02,112.50, written as “Rupees Two Lakh Two Thousand One Hundred Twelve and Fifty Paisa Only”.

Quotation or invoice?

A quotation is an offer: it tells the client what you will charge and until when the price holds. An invoice asks for payment once you have supplied the goods or services. When your quotation is accepted, make the invoice with our free Invoice Generator.

Your details stay on this device

The form, including your logo, is kept in this browser’s local storage so it is still there next time. Nothing is sent to Software Craft or anyone else. On a shared computer, press Clear all when you finish.

Frequently asked questions

What should a quotation include?

Your business details, the client’s details, a quotation number and date, each item with its quantity and rate, any discount and sales tax, the total, the date the quotation is valid until, and your terms, such as payment, delivery and warranty.

What is the difference between a quotation and an invoice?

A quotation tells the client what you will charge before they order, and is valid until a set date. An invoice asks for payment after you supply the goods or services. Once a quotation is accepted, you can make the invoice with our free Invoice Generator.

How are the discount and sales tax worked out?

Each line is quantity × rate. The discount, in % or in rupees, comes off the subtotal. Sales tax is the rate you set × the amount after discount. The total is the subtotal less the discount plus sales tax.

How do I save the quotation as a PDF?

Press “Print or save as PDF”, then choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. Only the quotation is printed, without the website around it.

Where are my details saved?

Only in this browser on this device, so they are still there next time. Nothing is sent to Software Craft. Press “Clear all” to remove everything, including your logo.
